Carajas

Carajas is a small town in the middle of the Amazon forest, which is used as a residence city for the Vale's workers close to Carajas iron ore mine (15 km). It has about 6,000 inhabitants and has all facilities needed as hospital, shopping, clubs, schools, college etc. It was built in the 1980's, when the first set of houses became ready in 1985.
